YSL Rive Gauche c.1976 Dress
If you know, you know. Paisley print wool and velvet tunic dress by YSL Rive Gauche, c.1976 when he famously released a russian-themed collection for the Fall/Winter season. Cotton braiding along the armholes, waist and neckline, buttons down the front, waist-level pockets hidden in the sideseams. A true collector’s piece.
Size & condition notes:
Label size FR42, however it runs very small, corresponding to a modern FR36-38.
In good structural condition, however a minor 1/2cm run at the opening and at right wrist have been repaired; see photos. One underarm is mildly faded, and the brown silk lining of the bodice inside shows signs of fading as well. In great condition for her age (around 45 years!)
